Energy Report Ltd is based in Hampshire and specialise in energy efficiency for all types of properties; commercial, retail, office, local government and residential. We employ fully qualified and accredited inspectors for providing Energy Performance Certificates (EPC), Display Energy Certificates (DEC) and Condition Surveys.
With buildings accounting for in excess of 40% of energy usage within the European Community The Energy Performance of Building Directive is aimed to highlight properties that are energy inefficient and provide advice on how this may be reduced. It is believed that the 40% could feasibly be reduced to 22%.
The principal objective of The Energy Performance of Building Directive
- to promote the improvement of the energy performance of buildings within the EU through cost effective measures.
Our in house specialists are at hand to advise you with your requirement in order that you comply with the new Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
Home Information Packs, Energy Performance Certificates & Display Energy Certificates
We can provide as appropriate, Home Information Packs (HIPs), Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and
Display Energy Certificates for Commercial or Public buildings, Residential Sales and Lettings or Social Housing.
Help to Improve Energy Efficiency
We are also able to offer services to help building owners implement cost effective measures in order to improve energy efficiency and overall running costs.
Energy Consultancy and Project Management Service
Further to this, there are services we can offer beyond the initial inspection of the property. We have developed an energy consultancy and project management service, which help any property owner understand the recommendations to the energy inspection, assess the most cost effective improvements and aids with the smooth implementation of these improvements.

Important changes to the EPC regulations announced on 9th September 2008
From 1st October an EPC is required for all new to market non-domestic buildings, the EPC is required to have
been ordered prior to marketing of a building for sale or lease commences. For buildings
currently on the market, initially the regulations were retrospective, i.e all buildings
currently being marketed for sale or lease needed to have an EPC by 1st October.
The new regulations have now introduced a grace time until 4th January 2009 for the EPC to be
produced. These transitional arrangements allow the seller of the building plenty of time to
obtain an EPC prior to 4th January 2009 or if the building is sold or let during this period
the EPC must be produced and provided to the purchaser or tenant.

June 9th 2008: DEC OR Software Finally Released
June 2008, just 4 months before all public buildings are required to have a Display
Energy Certificate in place, the department for Communities and Local
Government has finally released the software to enable accredited assessors to
produce DECs for public buildings.
Energy Report is one of the first companies out of the blocks with regard to
getting their assessors accredited to use this tool and provide DECs for
Public Buildings. We will very soon be able to offer a service to assess
buildings for DEC via the CIBSE LCC accreditation scheme.
