The Challenge
Broadgate Farm is a development of 12 substantial detached homes in Ampfield. From the outset, AC English Developments wanted the houses to be built to a high specification, with a strong focus on energy efficiency.
The brief required Energy Report to provide SAP calculations and air tests across the whole development. That meant considering the energy performance of each of the 12 homes and completing the relevant testing on every property, rather than treating the scheme as a single generic house type.

Energy Report advised on and delivered SAP calculations for the 12 new homes, alongside air testing across the development. The work supported the developer’s early decision to pursue an energy-efficient specification for the project.
Each house was fitted with an air source heat pump connected to underfloor heating. These systems formed part of the project’s wider approach to creating high-specification homes with an emphasis on efficient heating and ongoing energy performance.
By providing both SAP and air testing services, Energy Report supported the project from its energy assessment requirements through to the completion-stage testing needed for the individual houses.
