New Build – The Martens, Hinton Waldrist
Working alongside our long-standing commercial client, Country Estates (Reading), and their sister company Darcliffe Homes, we provided the SAP calculations and air tightness testing needed to support the delivery of this carefully considered new-build scheme.
The Martens brings six new family homes to a rural Oxfordshire setting. Designed and constructed to a high standard, the properties incorporate air source heat pumps as the primary heating system, helping to provide an efficient, lower-carbon approach to home heating.
For developments of this kind, achieving the intended energy performance depends on more than one element of the build. The fabric, heating design and construction quality all need to work together to provide a clear route through Part L compliance.
Our approach
Energy Report provided SAP calculations for the proposed homes, modelling their energy performance and helping the project team understand how the specification would support the required compliance route.
As the development progressed, our team also carried out air tightness testing. This completion-stage testing provides practical evidence of the building envelope’s performance and is an important part of the wider compliance process for new homes.
By combining design-stage SAP work with on-site air testing, we were able to support Darcliffe Homes from the early energy assessment through to the final stages of construction.
The outcome
The Martens is a strong example of how early energy modelling and practical site testing can support the successful delivery of modern, efficient homes.
The use of air source heat pumps, alongside a considered approach to SAP compliance and air tightness, helped provide a coordinated route towards delivering six well-specified new homes in Hinton Waldrist.
At Energy Report, we work with developers, architects and contractors across the South of England to provide practical, clear support for residential compliance projects. Whether you require SAP calculations, air tightness testing or a wider compliance package, our team can help keep your project moving forward.
Darcliffe have just completed 6 beautiful semi-detached homes in the small village of Hinton Waldrist. The homes were built to exacting standards utilising Air Source Heat pumps for the main heating.
